Preparation in Echigo Tsumari

Since the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale held in 2000, many artists from East Asian countries have created artworks and deepened their relationship with the inhabitants of Uwano village in Tsunan town.  This area further develops into an East Asia artistic gathering place with the opening of the Dragon Museum of Contemporary Art (DMOCA), which is established by the Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang.

This summer, the Uwano Village Community Center will be turned into an exhibition space with a café when Sense Art Studio (Hong Kong) carries out an exchange program and presents an exhibition on the theme of dragon during the Triennale. The exhibition will feature a wide variety of dragon images including the history of Chinese Dragon and Japanese Dragon, and the nine sons of the Dragon, etc.

We would like to send our best wishes to the local community and to visitors from all over the world on this special occasion.

Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale 2012 Kohebi-tai Volunteer Recruitment

Be our volunteer, Join the Kohebi-tai!
